The Fishbowl Exercise

It’s time to put your skills into action with the Fishbowl Exercise! This activity can be completed individually or as a group. The goal is to practice the four communication skills you just learned: Open Questioning, Power Questioning, Positioning Statements, and Light Commands.

Here’s how it works:

  • Scrolling Statements: You’ll see green statements scrolling on the screen.

  • Quick Responses: Your task is to respond to these statements using the designated communication skill (which will also be scrolling).

  • Time Limit: You have only 10 seconds to respond—so think fast!

Group Option - Knockout Game:

  • Form a single-file line in front of the screen.

  • Take turns responding to each statement.

  • If you can’t respond, stumble during your response, or use a closed question, you’re out!

  • Keep playing until one person is crowned the winner.

Be quick, stay sharp, and give it your best effort. Let’s see those skills in action!
