Creating Your BeVideo

🎉 Congratulations on being selected to create a BeVideo! Leadership specifically chose you because they believe your voice and perspective need to be heard. With that being said, below you will find some information relating to the preparation needed for your video.

TRAVEL

Filming will take place at Studio Three in Carmel, IN. If you're flying in, you'll arrive at the Indianapolis airport and can take an Uber to the address listed below. Filming usually requires about two hours. Please ensure you coordinate with Jon Nodine to schedule a date and time for filming before making any travel arrangements.

TELLING YOUR STORY

Contrary to popular belief, this won’t be an ‘interview’ setup. The video will be scripted, and you’ll have the convenience of reading from a teleprompter. Sounds like a relief, right? Well, sort of! While the teleprompter will make things easier on filming day, it also means we need to invest time in carefully planning and refining your message beforehand.

To start, your story or video should be no longer than four minutes, with a target closer to three minutes. In terms of word count, this typically translates to about 700-900 words, depending on your speaking pace.

The first paragraph should serve as an introduction and include any key information you want to share with the group. This can include a greeting, your name, brand, division, various roles, past work experiences, how you discovered Eight Eleven, and any other relevant details. Typically, this paragraph is 3-5 sentences long.

Now comes the fun part—deciding what to write about. A great approach is to think of yourself as the audience and consider what kind of message or story resonates with you. Your message doesn’t need to be about an award you’ve won or a way to showcase your achievements. It just needs to be authentic. Whether it’s an experience, a story, a challenge, a shift in perspective, or a change you’ve undergone, the key is that it’s real.

If you have a few ideas but would like feedback, feel free to share them with BeThree Creator, Jon Nodine. He’ll help you refine and focus your message to make it more engaging. Once your draft is complete, please send it to Jon for proofreading and editing. He’ll return it with his edits or suggestions, though you’re not required to use them.

Our theme for this year’s conference is ‘The Art of Recruiting,’ designed to showcase the opportunities ahead. If possible, try to incorporate this concept into your message. Additionally, throughout 2025, Eight Eleven will be celebrating our 25th anniversary, and we’d love for you to weave in any elements of nostalgia to highlight our journey and growth over the years.

WHAT TO WEAR

You’ll be filmed against a black background, so it’s best to avoid wearing too much black. Dark gray works, but light gray is even better. Men usually wear a jacket and button-up shirt, though sweaters, suits, ties, and vests are also common. Similarly, women often choose blazers, sweaters, or blouses. Since you’ll only be filmed from the thighs up, you can travel in comfort—tennis shoes are totally fine! If you’d like to see how others have styled their looks, click this link to view past BeVideos.
